Underprivileged Communities Struggle With Gaining Resources For Success

By: marysmith

The struggles of underprivileged communities in the US have inspired Syed Ahmed to create access to mentoring and educational resources for all underprivileged children, through the Blessed platform for kids from middle school to any age. Mentors will be able to help set goals, create a roadmap to achieve those goals and fund different educational activities that can help their mentees achieve those goals and succeed in life. This could range from online schooling or online learning platforms to buying a mentee a laptop to paying for a professional certification.

The platform will also help mentors raise sustainable funding streams for their mentee through their friends and family and other app users who join the platform just to donate.

The Blessed platform offers mentoring services and so much more! From the ability to be proactive about education to accessing a first job and internship, children will have the ingredients for success.

Here is a snapshot of how it works: A child or parent (if the child is underage) will sign up and provide basic personal information and answer questions about interests. These answers will match the mentee with a potential mentor. An icebreaker session happens when the mentee finds the mentor of his or her choice.

Parents are involved by authorizing and tracking mentoring activities and progress. After a mentor signs up,  begins mentoring, and plans out activities approved by a parent, he or she will have access to friends, family, and other funders on the platform, in order to raise funds for a mentee’s needs. Although the mentor keeps track of the mentee’s resource usage, fundraisers are not disclosed to the mentee.

Some children are blessed with the guidance for successful life choices, but many are not. The Blessed mentoring application provides the guidance and resources for success, through a network of successful individuals in the community. After a mentor signs up, they begin mentoring, and plans out activities approved by a parent, he or she will have access to friends, family, or other funders on the platform in order to raise funds for a mentee’s needs.Mentors will be able to help set goals, create a roadmap to achieve those goals and fund different educational activities that can help their mentees achieve those goals and succeed in life.
